Does anyone know what psychological tests Big Brother UK gives their contestants?

pumpkinBush asked:

I wanna know where to find them so I can take them…Big Brother on the couch always talks about them, and it has made me curious!
I checked out the Minnesota test, and am still not sure if it is the same one used. Here is a link describing what they look for in the tests: http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bb7_celebrity/news/newsstory.jsp?id=1304&articleMask=8

I don’t know which tests they’re given, but I would bet they’re given the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) or something similar.
They’re probably also tested to see how they respond to and cope with stress; if they have any addictions; etc. etc.

EDIT: OK, looks like they’re using a version of the Five Factors Personality inventory (known as IPIP or “The Big Five”). These are points 1 to 5. You can probably do a version for free online somewhere.

Point 6, affective communication basically measures how much emotion a person conveys when communicating (obviously important when making a tv show).

I’m not sure how they measure happiness, but it might be some modification of the Beck Depression Inventory or some other such test. The rest of the points are probably some scales either they created or, more likely, ones that are already in existence. I can’t tell you for sure which they used, but you could do a search (perhaps in google scholar) for items such as “happiness scales,” etc… you’d get a good overview of what is available.
